Axelys is proud to support the continuation of the Invention to Innovation (i2I) program, a pan-Canadian initiative built on decades of university research and industrial expertise. Designed to strengthen the capacity, culture, and connectivity of the innovation ecosystem, i2I programs bring together a national network of academic experts, industry mentors, and translational research specialists across Canada and Québec.
Thanks to an investment of nearly $23 million over five years, the i2I network has expanded nationwide, improving access to the programs by covering certain participation costs and offering stipends to eligible participants. This initiative is also made possible through the support of NSERC, under the Lab to Market program.
Applications are currently open for three complementary pathways:
i2I Skills Development Program
An 8-month asynchronous training program designed to fit your schedule, intended for postdoctoral fellows, PhD candidates, and master’s students in STEM and health fields. The program focuses on building an impact strategy, managing scientific uncertainty, and identifying commercialization opportunities.

i2I Postdoctoral Commercialization Program
A 12-month paid pathway combining mentorship, commercialization training, and a guided transition to industry.

A 5-day immersive program (May 4–8, 2026, Queen’s University) focused on entrepreneurial mindset and skills development. Training, meals, and accommodation included.
